Katina Zentz

Katina Zentz has worked as a staff photojournalist for The Frederick News-Post in Frederick, Maryland, for over three years. She covers a wide range of assignments across Frederick County, including news, sports, features, portraits, and projects. Katina was named the Community Photojournalist of the Year and was awarded Sony Best of Show in the 2024 NPPA Best of Photojournalism competition. She has also been recognized in the feature category of the 2023 NPPA Best of Photojournalism competition, the 81st annual Pictures of the Year International competition, Northern Short Course, and multiple MDDC Press Association contests. Katina graduated from the University of Iowa in 2020 and worked at The Daily Iowan, the independent newspaper of the University of Iowa, for several years. She earned a variety of honors for her work in college. Her prior experience includes internships at multiple publications, including USA Today, the Des Moines Register and the Telegraph Herald in Dubuque, Iowa.
