Azza Cohen

Azza Cohen was the Official Videographer and Director of Video to Vice President Kamala Harris (2022-2025), where she documented the first woman, Black, and Asian American Vice President across 91 cities in 28 states and 11 countries. A documentary filmmaker and visual politics expert, Cohen holds an MFA in Documentary Film from Stanford University (Knight-Hennessy Scholar), an MA from the University of Galway (Mitchell Scholar), and a BA in History from Princeton University. Her award-winning film FLOAT! was acquired by The New Yorker in 2023. She recently taught “Split Screen: Behind the Lens of Sexism in American Politics” at Harvard’s Institute of Politics and writes a bimonthly column on visual sexism for The Contrarian. After leaving the White House in January 2025, Cohen and her wife started a media production company that is changing the way women are portrayed in visual media. Cohen is represented by Bridget Matzie of Aevitas Creative for her forthcoming book Split Screen.
