Mark Johnson

Mark E. Johnson is the principal lecturer of photojournalism and chief technology officer at the University of Georgia College of Journalism and Mass Communication. He directs the college’s experiential learning workshops that bring photojournalism students into rural Georgia communities through the Woodall Weekend Workshops each spring and has lead sports photojournalism projects at the Paralympic Games and Women’s World Cup in partnership with the Associated Press. He is also the director of the National Press Photographers Association Best of Photojournalism competition. Prior to joining the university faculty in 2005, Johnson worked as a photojournalist and editor for wire services and newspapers throughout the northeast.
